Job Description Job Summary: Required This position is responsible for operating off road type heavy, mobile equipment (such as Loader, Material Handler, Lugger Truck, Hot Work Operator, Water Truck. May also be required to operate MRP and screening equipment. All work performed in a steel mill environment and will be worked as 12 hour rotating shifts . Duties include but not limited to:
- Perform and record routine mobile equipment pre-start and post inspections,
- Run Heavy Equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Complete required activity reports.
- Follow all policies and rules of the company and the customer
- Service a high-demand production customer with reliability and efficiency
- Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisor and customers
- Understand and follow the customer’s schedule to ensure timely operations
- Strong attention to safety protocols and compliance with regulations
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
Maintain high level of safety, and abide by all safe work requirements
- This position is for an anticipated opening with a training rate of $31.23 to $34.50 per hour and then an hourly rate of $33.88 to $36.50 per hour.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Heavy Equipment Operator License and at least 2 years' experience operating heavy equipment.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
- Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
- Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.
- Willing to submit to background check and drug screen
