DESCRIPTION

Position: Ice Team Lead

Department: Game Entertainment

 

SUMMARY

In addition to standard Ice Team duties, the Ice Team Lead is responsible for

attending the Hype Team’s pre-game briefing and leading the Ice Team briefing.

The Team Lead also provides direction and feedback to part time team during

hockey games.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a high level ice team and act as liaison with ice maintenance crew during all games and events.
  • Assist in the training of all ice team members to ensure they are able and motivated to provide a high level of accuracy and consistency in all game night related duties
  • Provide on-going feedback to ice team staff, handling issues as they arise
  • Provide ice cleaning during TV-time outs
  • Provide on-ice assistance with set–up and execution of intermission contests as required
  • Attend Game Entertainment event briefings representing the ice team
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities

  • Proven supervisory and team leadership skills.
  • Must meet minimum 75% availability each month
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by team schedule.
  • Must be energetic, positive, assertive and self-motivated person.
  • Solid team player
  • Must have excellent communication skills, professional attitude and appearance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact professionally with fans
  • Must be 19 years or older
  • High level of physical fitness
  • Must be a competent skater in hockey skates
  • Must be able to handle props & tools while skating (participation in on-ice auditions is required)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of, and a passion for, professional hockey would be an asset
