Position Overview:

Buyer - Projects
The Project Buyer is responsible for material management of Durabuilt’s accounts as well as providing strategic support to internal business partners. As a Project Buyer, you will work closely and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to support project demand fulfillment. Specializing in pricing project needs and fulfillment timelines, the Project Buyer is distinguished by a special skillset to price projects and close interaction with Sales and Suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Production and Quality to understand project and special-order requirements.
  • Connect with suppliers for the best pricing and provide sales with the appropriate sales price.
  • Create PO and send to suppliers based on the earlier quotes and ensure supply as per project timelines.
  • Re-order material / modify PO as needed based on the changes or modifications to the sales order.
  • Drive continuous improvement in selecting the most optimal supplier based on Cost, Quality and Delivery parameters.
  • Negotiate for best price and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure correct prices are quoted and maintained in CX (ERP)
  • Maintain project files and a log. Prepare and present regular updates for all the project, Special-orders and pricing requests.
  • Respond to Change requests.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal business partners.
  • Actively manage vendor relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration to ensure win-win solutions.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in related industry
  • 3 plus years’ experience in purchasing practices, estimating and purchasing under a lean manufacturing system.
  • Good human relations and excellent verbal/written communication skills are required along with a strong desire to work in a fast-paced highly interdisciplinary environment.
  • Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate cost effective vendor agreements
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide superior internal and external client experience

Identified KPI’s

  • Provide correct pricing for projects and special orders on time.
  • Ensure PO release and delivery of material as per project requirement.
  • Maintain project and price request log and present to management at pre-defined intervals.
  • Identify, recommend, and present monthly improvements
  • Take the lead to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
