The Opportunity
We are presently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in carrying out a variety of engineering duties including designing, researching, and prototyping new products/designs. They will collaborate across departments on various design projects, using in-depth knowledge of the latest design trends and engineering software.
This role is on-site and reporting to Engineering Manager.
This role is a backfill for an existing position within the organization.
The final wage will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall qualifications.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Designing and optimizing heavy equipment components and systems using engineering analysis and simulation tools (FEA and CFD). Creating and updating 3D models and technical drawings in SolidWorks. Developing new designs, performing design calculations, and improving existing products. Collaborating with engineering, fabrication, assembly, and other cross-functional teams to support projects from concept through production. Preparing and maintaining project documentation, drawings, and design records. Working effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
What You Bring
A post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. Experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, or similar 3D CAD software. Knowledge of engineering simulation tools and methodologies, including FEA and CFD. Understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, welding, and hydraulic systems as they relate to equipment design. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. Project management experience or certification is considered an asset.
