Job Synopsis
This part time Administrative Assistant will provide critical day to day administrative support to a dynamic and passionate team who together raise over $10 million a year for the work of MCC nationally and internationally. From international disaster responses to our ongoing appeal work, special events, monthly giving, legacy gifts, and more - there is never a shortage of work to do to help keep us all working effectively and efficiently. This role requires someone who is highly organized, proactive and willing to work on a broad range of tasks and projects to support the Fundraising team.
This is a salaried role, working 18.75 hours per week. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, during business hours.
This role is part of a team of 9 within the Donor Relations department and reports to the Manager of Donor Engagement.

High School Diploma + 1-3 years administrative support experience

Proven ability to provide admin support for a busy department with ever changing needs

Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask

Willingness to take initiative and work with minimal supervision

Experience and keen interest working in databases

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to relate to a wide variety of people with a pleasant and professional demeanor

Ability to handle a variety of inquiries for information with sensitivity and tact, representing the organization well to clients, churches and the general public

Highly competent in making administrative/procedural decisions and judgments

Ability to identify and resolve problems in a proactive and timely manner

High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Respect for and discretion in dealing with confidential material

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Team Support
- Provide administrative support to all Donor Relations team members as directed by the supervisor, adapting to changing priorities
- Areas of support will include monthly giving, legacy gifts, appeals, major donor strategies; engagement and stewardship, and special events with specific tasks including, but not limited to:

Completing the biweekly EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) and bank debit donations

Following up on failed and returned transactions and expiring cards
-
Participating in stewarding donors through email, notes and phone calls
-
Researching possible funding opportunities
-
Assisting in the development of project proposals and reports
-
Data Base Support
-
Provide ongoing support with data base including data entry, batch entry and updates
-
Undertake data base clean up and other special projects to help ensure data base is running optimally
-
Produce reports on giving trends, major donors, etc.
-
Support any other data base operations as requested
Front Desk/General Office Support
- Provide additional support to the front desk such as:
-
Answering phones and inquiries about MCC from constituency and general public, providing information to callers and redirecting to other staff as appropriate
-
Receiving walk in donations and providing temporary receipts
-
Processing donations to point of deposit - this includes mail, walk-in, web, tribute and credit card donations
-
Updating donor information in the data base when donations are received.

Assisting with general batch entry

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Participate in MCCO orientations, provincial meetings, Peace Conference and Staff Development Day
- Participate in a local faith community, being willing to use personal gifts within this community and model nonviolent peacemaking through respectful interaction with others
- Maintain a high level of integrity, reflecting Christian respect and Christ's unconditional love to those with whom you work, including colleagues, partner agencies, the homeless and marginalized
- Answer inquiries about MCC from constituency and general public; communicate MCC's values, articulating the importance of MCC's criteria for workers, all of whom serve as representatives of the Mennonite and Be in Christ churches which support MCC
- Model nonviolent peacemaking through respectful daily interactions with staff and the public.

Salary Details
Base salary: $23,179. This role starts on day 1 with a company paid benefit package
