Job Description:
Trillium Health Partners’ Pharmacentres (outpatient pharmacy) are seeking a motivated and passionate Pharmacy Technician student to join our team for a summer placement. Working across all four THP Pharmacentres located with the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital, and the Queensway Health Centre, the successful applicant will gain valuable experience in outpatient pharmacy operations while supporting day-to-day activities to help meet the needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support prescription processing and workflow activities under the supervision of pharmacists and regulated pharmacy technicians.
- Assist with preparing, packaging, and labelling medications in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete required records using pharmacy information systems.
- Provide courteous customer service to patients and caregivers, escalating questions outside of scope as appropriate.
- Support inventory activities (e.g., stocking, expiry checks) and general outpatient pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
- Completed at least one year of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program (two years preferred)
- Related pharmacy experience is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to recognize limitations and seek guidance when needed
- Working knowledge of medications and pharmacy terminology
- Strong keyboarding and computer skills are an asset
- Satisfactory attendance and performance are required
