What you’ll be doing
The Builder Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing the visibility of CIBC residential mortgage programs within the builder industry in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba by developing strategic partnerships. Reporting to the National Director, Specialty Teams, the Builder Business Development Manager’s primary objective is to create opportunities to secure mortgage referrals and to meet or exceed established targets.

You can effectively perform all work activities remotely and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.
How you’ll succeed
- Cultivate and manage relationships with builders, developers and related stakeholders. Identify new business opportunities to increase market share in the builder industry. Develop and execute strategies to achieve business and revenue objectives. Engage regularly with builders, developers, realtors, and industry associations.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of market trends, the competitive landscape, and industry developments to anticipate challenges and opportunities, and develop effective strategies. Actively participate in and support industry-related associations and events to promote CIBC’s profile in the builder market.
- Leverage business opportunities by training MAs on builder program features, site servicing requirements, and effective client engagement. Drive accountability by ensuring MA commitment to site management, with a focus on building a long-term pipeline for sustained growth. Demonstrated experience in business development and relationship management, ideally within a financial services organization and the new home construction market.
- Collaborate with functional groups across CIBC, including Mortgage Advisors and Area Sales Managers in Specialized Advice, Personal and Business Banking partners and Real Estate Finance Division to develop and leverage business opportunities. Promote a One Team approach by ensuring Mortgage Advisors deliver advice-based solutions that showcase the best of CIBC in every client interaction.
