Job Summary
The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Under the direction of theAssociate Director, Academic Regulations, the Assistant Registrar, Records and Graduation is responsible for the management and operations of the Records and Graduation unit. With the support of a coordinator, this unit is responsible for the operations and administration of academic records, academic supports for internal stakeholders, academic progression tools and degree verification.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the degree progression and academic support processes, including the degree audit system, graduation, grading, honours programs, waivers, and academic records.

Develop and implement best practice approaches to student record management for the university involving confidential and sensitive information.

Set best practice approaches for degree audit system for the use of supporting systems, effective reporting and identifying opportunities for enhancements.

Manage the review of academic records of students who have applied to graduate to ensure outstanding degree requirements have been met.

Advise students about the content and structure of Dalhousie programs including course requirements, pre-requisites, registration process and progression.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
-
Undergraduate degree, plus a minimum three to five years of related administrative experience in post-secondary environment (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).

Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.

Considerable knowledge of degree audit systems, student information systems or databases.
-
Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint Presentations, basic html, Adobe/PFE.
Assets
-
Experience in academic records, degree requirements and information management.

Experience using Ellucian products such as Banner, and CollegeSource uAchieve.
