P | Day | Fit and Weld - Robot Operator
About the role
As a Weld Robot Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining robotic welding equipment to produce high-quality welds efficiently and safely to build equipment that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry.
Location: 1403 Dundas Street, Woodstock
Dedicated Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
Job Duties:
- Set up the robotic welding equipment, loading welding programs, selecting appropriate welding parameters, and ensure that the welding fixtures are properly positioned and secured for welding
- Monitor and troubleshoot the robot to ensure that the welds are applied accurately and consistently according to specifications
- Inspect welds visually and use appropriate measuring tools to verify that they meet quality specifications. Manual welding may be required.
- Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib) to load and unload welding fixtures
- Communicate and collaborate with other team members of the manufacturing team to optimize production processes
Skills and Experience:
- Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, and be able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
- Assembly tasks require collaboration with coworkers, and effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members
- Physical requirements include using strength, such as pulling, pushing, lifting and/or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending
Qualifications:
- Previous manual welding and welding robot operation experience is required
- Capable of repairing and reworking welds for a high-quality finish
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Navigate and select appropriate welding parameters through the use of a computerized system
