Machine Operator - Die Cutter
About the role
Job Description Machine Operator - Die Cutter / Rewinder and Slitter (Afternoon Shift : 2.30pm to 11pm) Primary Duties And Responsibilities Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the duties outlined below:
- Ensure that the Die-Cutter machine is running efficiently, according to work order, SOP’s and quality specifications.
- Inspect die cut pieces frequently for defects, stop the equipment when defects are present.
- Adjust the machine based on competency level.
- Maintain roll inventory of running job and availability of upcoming jobs.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing rolls, accurately record roll quantities on all required paperwork.
- Organize and maintain the die inventory.
- Help take inventory count monthly.
- Keep entire work area clean and swept.
- Operate rewinder / slitter to slit required material weekly
- Operate high lift reach truck in accordance with all company policy
- Help in the trace room when required to sort, clean and package finished goods.
- Observe Company policy, Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Use safety protective devices in all operating areas
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Production or Plant Manager
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as machine operator is an asset (for example experience with cutter machines, rewinding machines, slitter machines, industrial printing machines, packaging machines, etc.)
- Able to read, write, and must have basic mathematical skills
- Read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic computation skills
- Team and customer focused
- Safety oriented
- Computer Proficiency
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Excellent attendance
- Able to work over-time and weekend shifts if required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for long period of time
Salary & Conditions:
- Job Location: Ammega Canada Inc., 381 Ambassador Drive, Mississauga
- Salary: $20 - $21 hourly depending on relevant experience
- Days of work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week - Afternoon Shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
The hiring is open to all applicants able to work 40 hours per week.
