**Position:**Automotive Controller
**Location:**Penticton, BC

As the Automotive Controller at a busy dealership in Penticton, BC, you will play a key role within the dealership’s management team. We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative office environment and enjoys both leading a team and being involved in the day-to-day accounting operations of the dealership.

This exceptional opportunity allows you to further your accounting career within a dynamic and growing organization. The start date is as soon as possible, and automotive industry experience is preferred (PBS experience is an asset but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the dealership accounting team, ensuring strong day-to-day financial operations
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of monthly accounting records and financial data
  • Prepare internal and external financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Analyze financial statements and reports to identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide financial support and insight to dealership management through customized reports and analysis
  • Oversee key day-to-day accounting functions including cash reconciliations, deal postings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and schedule maintenance
  • Ensure timely collection of all aspects of Accounts Receivable
  • Prepare and review monthly accruals, reconciliations, and adjusting entries
  • Support payroll preparation on a semi-monthly basis
  • Assist with HR documentation and administrative requirements as needed
  • Prepare year-end documentation and working papers for the external audit
  • Manage the dealership accounting system (PBS) and support dealership IT coordination
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvements across the dealership

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience (automotive dealership experience is an asset)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA designation considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes and internal controls
  • Experience with hands-on accounting functions such as reconciliations, deal posting, and A/P
  • Proven leadership ability and experience working with teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of payroll and related taxes
