About the role

The position is at a tech company. We're looking for a hands-on, full-cycle recruiter to join our growing recruitment team. As a major role in our recruiting efforts, you'll be in charge of everything from finding and screening prospects to arranging interviews and hiring top personnel. You'll work directly with recruiting managers from all departments to ensure that we're bringing in the best and brightest who match our fast-paced, scrappy, and inventive culture.

We'd love to meet you if you thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere, are adaptable enough to manage the diversity of responsibilities required for this profession, and have a talent for developing relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle recruiting for all positions within the firm, from sourcing to scheduling to final offer discussions.
  • Proactively find, engage, and nurture applicants using a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with recruiting managers to better understand position needs, job descriptions, and team dynamics. Provide guidance and assistance during the hiring process.
  • Schedule interviews and applicant evaluations in a timely and efficient manner to provide a positive candidate experience.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, delivering clear and timely communication throughout the process. Provide applicants with feedback and updates on a frequent basis.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Talent Acquisition and recruiting managers to develop and extend competitive offers. Negotiate conditions as needed, and guarantee a smooth offer acceptance process.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor hiring practices, and develop recruitment tactics in order to constantly improve our hiring strategy.
  • Help streamline and optimize the recruiting process to maximize productivity and applicant experience while maintaining a scrappy startup mindset and flexibility.
  • Provide assistance in maintaining and updating reports and analytics.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of expertise in talent sourcing and/or recruitment in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Comfortable with a constantly changing startup atmosphere where priorities vary quickly, and you can adjust with a positive outlook.
  • Proficient in sourcing technologies such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Gem, with a track record of building recruitment pipelines, engaging, and closing prospective applicants.
  • Highly structured, with the capacity to handle various requisitions and competing demands.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with applicants, hiring managers, and leaders.
  • Capable of identifying and overcoming hiring obstacles via innovative thinking.
  • Open to new methods, strategies, and technology that can improve the recruitment process.

Nice to haves

  • Experience in tech or SaaS.
  • Proficient with Ashby.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian tech landscape and market trends.

Benefits

  • Embrace autonomy and accountability in a flexible work environment; we focus on outcomes and empower you to determine how to get the job done.
  • Access our company-paid group benefits for you and your family, with $1,000 towards mental health support.
  • Disconnect during our holiday closure and take advantage of our generous time off policies throughout the year.
  • Enjoy monthly paid meals, an annual wellness allowance to support your well-being, and parental leave top-ups as your family grows.
  • Secure your stake in our success; you’ll receive competitive stock option grants as a pivotal early employee.

Pay: CA$85k to CA$135k annually.

Find cutting-edge, next-generation HR roles!

People Operations, or People Ops for short, focuses on the management of an organization's employees, from hire to retire and everything in between.

You might be thinking, "but that's just HR!" And you'd be half right.

People Ops is the future of HR. As companies become more employee-centric, so too does HR. Traditionally, HR processes revolve around compliance, payroll, benefits, and employee management.

Those things aren't going away. But People Ops ensures that teams are proactive rather than reactive.

People Ops teams achieve this through an employee-first attitude and a data-focused mentality. Metrics such as turnover, time-to-hire, median tenure, and employee satisfaction are paramount.

As a result, more and more companies are hiring "People" professionals instead of the age-old HR roles such as benefits administrator or HR coordinator. By doing so, companies hope to empower their employees for day-to-day success.
