Compensation : $100,000 - $120,000 annually
Reporting To: Vice President, People & Culture
The Opportunity This is a pivotal role for an operationally-focused HR professional who thrives on optimizing strong foundations and planning for future growth. As Manager/Senior Manager, People Operations, you'll shape and enhance our core HR programs, processes, and business partnering practices, setting the stage for impactful culture and organizational effectiveness initiatives. This role offers significant autonomy to make it your own while supporting our multi-geographic workforce across Canadian and US operations.
What You Will Do Operational Excellence
- Optimize core HR processes, policies, and procedures across Canadian and US operations
- Oversee payroll, benefits, and HRIS operations through direct management of one team member
- Lead recruitment and selection processes for various roles across the organization
- Oversee performance management processes including reviews, goal setting, and performance improvement planning
- Support compensation management including job evaluation and salary benchmarking
- Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, transfers, leaves, and terminations across multiple jurisdictions
- Engage with employees to support a positive and culturally aligned employee experience
Effective Business Partnership
- Build trusted partnerships with leaders across all levels, becoming their go-to HR resource for operational excellence and proactive guidance
- Provide critical thinking and sound judgment on complex employee relations and organizational challenges
Data & Analytics
- Leverage advanced Excel skills to create meaningful HR metrics, dashboards, and reports
- Analyze workforce trends and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Develop robust HR reporting systems that provide insights into organizational health
Qualifications What you Bring Essential Experience
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience in mid-sized organizations (100-500 employees), with demonstrated breadth across HR operations, employee relations, performance management, and recruitment
- Direct experience overseeing or partnering with payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems
- Proven track record with multi-geographic workforces, specifically Canadian and US operations
- Experience supporting diverse employee populations including office-based professionals and field staff
- Background in construction, utilities, engineering, or similar industries with complex workforce requirements
