Intern, Engineering Materials
This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.
Job Summary
The Intern, Engineering Materials is responsible for working with Category Analysts, Managers, and Senior Managers to support and drive a variety of projects. The incumbent works with different teams (e.g. Business, Legal, Compliance, or Finance) to ensure that deadlines and deliverables are met. The projects provide the opportunity to learn and gain experience while being mentored. The Engineering Category team includes Construction, CSS , Engineering Maintenance Services, Signals Communications, Fleet & Work equipment and Track Materials. Team members are expected to lead projects and oversee all aspects of the project portfolio.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform spend analysis for baseline on Category projects
- Carry out analyses for project recommendations
- Assist and lead Category Analyst in building requirements for Request for Proposal (RFP)
- Assist and lead Category Managers in elaborating Award of Business (AOB)
- Manage and ensure compliance of AOB tagging
- Manage contract compliance
- Assist and lead Category Analyst with project management tasks such as performance review, invoice discrepancies, pricing analysis and reporting for stakeholders.
Requirements
- Completed at least one year in his/her program and is in good standing in one of the following fields: Business Administration (Finance, Procurement, Supply and Operations Management), Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical)
- Proficient use of MS Office 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint Word, Notes).
- Familiarity with using reporting software such as Tableau and SmartSheet
- Bilingual (French/English)
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Autonomous and a good sense of project ownership
Education
- Recent Grad or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
