The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Home Care works as a member of an interprofessional health care team utilizing the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to individuals across the life span. The LPN is responsible for her/his nursing practice as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). In collaboration with the Registered Nurse Case Manager, the LPN is responsible to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of Home Care clients and their caregivers/families.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Transition Company: Assisted Living Alberta Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Seniors Central Home Care Primary Location: Sunridge Medical Gallery Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.80 Posting End Date: 06-JUL-2026 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 27-JUL-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 8 Shifts per cycle: 32 Shift Pattern: Days, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Driver's License, Vehicle Required
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
This is an ON-SITE position. Diploma preparation or equivalent as assessed and determined by CLPNA is required. Valid practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) is required. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) from Heart and Stroke Foundation, current within the last 12 months, required. Completion of a post-basic Medication Administration Course for LPN’s. Handling, moving and lifting heavy or awkward equipment and/or individuals are required. Ability to perform all work related duties in accordance with regulated legislature. Must have 1-2 years recent Home Care or Community experience. Note: This position requires a vehicle for business use. Access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work related travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent work experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Minimum of two years current nursing experience with one year in a community based setting preferred. A keen interest in wound care and a willingness to acquire expertise through education and training. A team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
