Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is actively hiring for Junior Production Accountant with 1-3 years’ experience to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Production Accounting in the Operations Financial Services (OFSU), part of Pembina’s Gas Infrastructure (PGI).

Pembina Gas Infrastructure (PGI) is a premier gas processing entity in Western Canada with a combined capacity of 5 billion cubic feet per day. A partnership between Pembina and KKR, PGI is strategically positioned to serve customers throughout the Montney and Duvernay trends from central Alberta to northeast British Columbia. Pembina owns 60% of PGI and operates and manages PGI facilities while KKR's global infrastructure funds own the remaining 40%.

The successful candidate will work within a cross-functional team and be responsible for the production and associated revenue accounting activities for some of Pembina Gas Infrastructure and Pembina Gas Services gas plants.

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary, AB

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Ensure complete and accurate full cycle production and revenue accounting for assigned gas plants;
  • Perform daily/monthly gas and product allocations using a combination of Excel and TIPS production accounting software, including interpreting plant schematics in order to configure new or troubleshoot and amend existing facility implementations and allocations;
  • Interpret various gas handling agreements to ensure accurate settlement invoicing;
  • Complete monthly NGL and Gas pipeline splits by Industry published schedules;
  • Populate Volumetric and Royalty data (SAFOAF) into Petrinex by government posted schedules;
  • Work closely with the Operations and Measurement teams as well as external customers to gather and analyze day to day production and measurement data;
  • Coordinate with Operations and Commercial Services teams to accommodate for changes to customer activities;
  • Participate in various business and system projects as required;
  • Assist with prior period amendments and audit queries as required;
  • Assist in the reconciliation of accounts receivable as required;
  • Ensure full compliance with internal controls and corporate policies;
  • Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic environment;

Qualifications:

  • CAPPA certification would be considered an asset;
  • A post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or similar disciplines would be an asset;
  • 1-3 years of experience in production accounting would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of Regulatory reporting requirements would be an asset;
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, journal entries and accounts receivable;
  • Working knowledge of the TIPS production accounting system, and experience with SAP would be considered an asset;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver accurate results while meeting rigid deadlines;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline driven environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and a strong team player; and
  • Excellent Excel skills, proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
