JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Guest Services Network, As Coordinator, the daily front line operations of the Housekeeping and Patient Transporting departments are your responsibility. Working with Managers/Director to ensure that WRH is aligned with current industry standards and that the department adheres to all regulations, departmental and organizational policies.
This position will interact with all levels of the multi-disciplinary team, patients and families, members of leadership team of all departments.

Member of the CHHA (Canadian Healthcare Housekeeping Association) preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB OUTCOMES:
Acts on behalf of the hospital to ensure a continuous focus on patient flow, patient safety and patient satisfaction, as well as occupational health and hospital policies/procedures by:

Provides leadership/oversight to all departments within the portfolio. Act as the corporate liaison for all support services to ensure issues are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.

Works collaboratively with all departments across WRH to ensure their needs are met with respect to support services. Acts as corporate liaison for all support services to ensure issues/concerns are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.

Works with the management team to develop departmental goals that uphold the corporate direction set out by the WRH Strategic Plan. Ensures goals are measurable and attainable.

Provide leadership and direction for the development of departmental budgets. Ensures managers monitor and meet budget targets and are held accountable for any issues.

Responsible to submission of capital equipment submissions for all departments.

Establishes collaborative relationships with the UNIFOR and IBEW unions to ensure effective staff management to meet the departmental operational requirements.

Work collaboratively with Labour Relations for any union issues, Collective Agreement negotiations, Pay Equity reviews and any other departmental changes resulting in significant staff changes.

Act as a mentor to for Managers, Coordinators and Supervisors and ensure continuous staff development.

Provide leadership for the overall management of staff in all departments including hiring, training and staff evaluations. Ensure a consistent management approach is applied to all areas and work with the team to develop strategies when dealing with human resource shortages.

Provides direction and leadership for all RFPs related to Support Services.

Provide direction for support services operations and physical space in the New Windsor Essex Acute Care Hospital. Work collaboratively with the Redevelopment team on all aspects of the project to ensure all operational needs are met.

Maintains external industry contacts for all departments to keep abreast of new technologies and innovations for current and/or future implementation.

As an integral member of the WRH corporate Patient Flow team, ensure sustainable housekeeping and patient portering processes to assist with effective and timely flow of patients.

Provide direction regarding any necessary escalation due to issues outside the control of the department.

Provide leadership to the support services team working in the Command Center to ensure mutual support of the Command Center Nurses and After Hours Managers.

Provide leadership for the management of the Capacity Management system.
