Front-end Developer (Application Development - Customer)

The Front-end Developer will report to the Manager, Digital Development.
Responsibilities:
- Handle software applications development, testing & implementation of projects.
- Develop scalable, high performance, and robust cloud-based web and mobile solutions.
- Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Develop user interfaces using Angular/ React/ React Native, ensuring responsiveness, accessibility, and optimal performance.
- Package and support deployment of DevOps agile releases.
- Develop, refine, and fine-tune applications.
- Analyzing and resolving technical and applications issues.
- Implement new features and optimize existing ones to drive maximum performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve development constraints and deployment issues.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of requirements and user stories.
- Familiarity with mobile navigation libraries (e.g., React Navigation)
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and React Native core concepts (hooks, components, lifecycle).
- Familiarity with native development tools (Xcode, Android Studio) and build processes.
- Prepare reports and documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software.
- Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from other developers, scrum master and product managers.
- Support the testing and launching efforts of new cloud-based products.
- Stay updated on emerging frontend technologies and industry trends, and advocate for their adoption when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- 4+ years of web application development experience.
- Experience with web application frameworks – Angular and React.
- Implement complex frontend logic using RxJS for reactive programming.
- Proficiency in HTML/ CSS, JavaScript.
- Utilize NgRx Store for state management to ensure scalable and maintainable code.
- Comfortable developing in an Agile environment.
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery/Deployment experience.
- Real-world experience with mission-critical enterprise REST / GraphQL APIs (either as consumer or producer).
- Good understanding of cross platform development using PAAS cloud systems.
- Good understanding of frontend builds tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Parcel.
- Comfortable analyzing network traffic using Fiddler/Postman/Wireshark etc.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in rapidly changing environments.
- Demonstrates openness and willingness to adapt to new ways of doing things.
- Takes responsibility for the results and actively participates in the future direction of the organization.
- Demonstrates concern for satisfying external and/or internal customers.
- Focuses on the accomplishment of the team’s and unit’s work; sets challenging goals and meets or exceeds goals.
- Ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team in person.
- Approaches a problem by using a logical, systematic, and sequential approach.
Assets:
- Certifications in core programming languages, Cloud platforms, DevOps and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with native module development (Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and mobile deployment pipelines.
- Experience with testing frameworks.
- Experience with cloud services and backend integrations (Firebase, AWS, etc.).
- Understanding of security best practices in web and mobile applications.
