Status: Full-time, temporary
Days and Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:30AM to 3:30PM
Position Summary
The Summer Grounds Worker supports the maintenance and care of the school’s outdoor spaces under the direction of the Director of Facilities & Campus Improvement and Groundskeeper. This is an entry-level, hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work and is interested in learning basic landscaping and grounds maintenance practices or has experience working as a landscaper.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance Support

Assist with lawn care, including mowing, trimming, and edging

Support the maintenance of gardens and flower beds, including planting and weeding
-
Help with planting shrubs, trees, and seasonal flowers
-
Collect and remove garbage, leaves, and general debris from grounds and walkways

Assist with watering and basic plant care
General Assistance
- Work alongside the Groundskeeper on daily tasks and seasonal projects
- Support basic campus upkeep, including cleanliness and presentation of outdoor areas
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Skills, attributes, and qualifications

Ability to follow safe procedures for use of fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides

Interest in outdoor work and landscaping

Ability to perform physical labour in various weather conditions

Willingness to learn and take direction

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
