  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity to members’ privacy.

  • Provide administrative support to the case management team by processing incoming medical reports and correspondence, and by requesting and coordinating assessment reports.

  • Facilitate communication between the disability case managers, healthcare providers, and members on the LTD plan in a timely and confidential manner.

  • Review new applications to confirm member’s eligibility to apply for benefits and completion of documentation.

  • Prepare new claim applications for peer review by entering new claims data, calculating benefit, and printing reports.

  • Update LTD claims administration system with approval dates, reminders, and notes.

  • Communicate to claimants up for review, through written correspondence and verbally, results of adjudication including approval period, expectations, and requirements for further review.

  • Prepare review reminder letters to claimants for peer review.

  • Calculate changes to disability benefits as well as offsets to disability benefits from various sources (partial benefits, overpayments, rehabilitation earnings, odd days lost and income from other sources).

  • Monitor CPP application status of claimants and receipt of CPP 1618 forms, following up with claimants when appropriate.

What you’ll bring

  • A one-year certificate or diploma from a recognized business college, plus 1-2 years of benefits administration experience, preferably in disability claims administration. Preference will be given to candidates who are enrolled in or have completed a Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation.
