Registered Pacemaker/Device Technologist - Diagnostic Imaging

About the Opportunity
The Pacemaker Device Technologists arranges follow up appointments with patients that have pacemakers. The Technologist assists with programming during pacemaker implantation, arranges appointments for patient’s requiring six months to one year follow-ups for their pacemaker and implantable cardiac defibrillators, maintains all pertinent information with regards to programming and ensures follow-up information in recorded in a provincial database, check daily alerts for each device, contact patient if necessary and arrange for follow-up appointment, manage pacemakers and additional equipment used in the implantation to ensure all necessary equipment is available. Provide education for pacemaker/ICD patients and families.
Travel to other sites may be required.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Successful completion of a two-year BCIT program or acceptable equivalent
- Successful completion of the BCIT specialty program Cardiac Sciences (Cardiac Rhythm Device Technology Option - Advanced Certificate)
- Successful completion of a recognized Pacemaker Specialty exam (CSCT National Association or Heart Rhythm Society exam) is an asset
- If the exam has not been completed, incumbent must agree to complete the recognized Heart Rhythm Society Specialty exam within 3 years of hire
- Current registration and in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists required
- Current BLS certification required
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Manual dexterity required
- Demonstrates independent judgment
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
