Part-Time Parks and Recreation Labourer
Fall/Winter Season (up to 5 positions)
Located approximately halfway between London, ON and Sarnia, ON and just off Highway 402, the Township of Warwick is a growing community of about 4,500. This is an exciting time in the Parks and Recreation Department with a recently completed Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Culture master plan and the new East Lambton Community Complex now in operation. Being part of the Township of Warwick team is an amazing opportunity to work in a small but progressive municipality that provides outstanding Parks and Recreation amenities, facilities, programs and services to the community. With this growth our P&R team is also growing!
The PT Parks and Recreation Labourer is a part-time position that works between 16-35 hours per week seasonally. This position is responsible for maintaining and operating the newly constructed East Lambton Community Complex and Watford Arena, Warwick Community Hall, Park and Open spaces, and the Townships Recreation facilities. The position maintains and operates equipment including the ice resurfacer, lawn mower and tractor. The position will deal directly with the general public, provide event support and promote the use of these facilities.
This position is a Union position, CUPE Local 2393.3
This position requires regular shift availability during weekday, evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Secondary School Graduation considered an asset

A valid Ontario Driver’s License.

Two years experience in an Arena, Gymnasium, Sports fields and or Parks environment.

Certificate in recreation and leisure, park/facility operations or related field would be considered an asset.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a public setting.

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices and their application in the workplace.
