We are a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team made up of mental health clinicians, a psychologist, family physicians, pediatricians, a psychiatrist, dietitians, and dedicated administrative professionals. Together, we provide evidence-based, compassionate care to children, youth, adults, and families across South Vancouver Island who are navigating eating disorders. Our team works closely with community partners, schools, healthcare providers, and other specialized programs to ensure individuals receive the right care, at the right time. The Role In the role of Mental Health Clinician, you will deliver comprehensive, client centred clinical services to children, youth, adults, and families impacted by eating disorders. This includes conducting intakes and thorough assessments; providing ongoing case management and evidence informed treatment; completing suicide risk assessments; developing and implementing safety plans; and offering timely crisis intervention when required. Your work will be grounded in trauma informed, culturally responsive, and strengths based practice, supporting children, youth, adults, and families at various stages of their recovery journey.

Through active consultation and collaboration, you will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, internal team members, and community partners to ensure coordinated, seamless, and effective care. As a key contributor to the multidisciplinary team, you will participate in care planning, case conferencing, and shared decision making, helping to foster confidence, resilience, and hope in individuals and families as they navigate change and recovery.

Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered. -**NOTE:**If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
