About the role
Company Description Nugwa Consulting Limited is an investment vehicle set up to acquire, take private, and operate publicly listed companies in the metals and mining sector. We source targets, raise financing for the respective deals, and execute.
Role Description The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a full-time hybrid role for a potential target we are looking to acquire. It owns mines across three countries in Asia, Oceania, and the US. The COO role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day administrative and operational functions across the target's subsidiaries.
Qualifications
Over 15 years of experience in an operations role, with at least 5 years in a managerial position in the mining industry. Experience with the gold industry is a plus. Demonstrated experience in business planning, strategic execution, and scaling operations in a growing mining company with multiple asset portfolios. Proficiency in finance and budgeting, including resource planning, cost control, and financial performance monitoring. Proven leadership and people management capabilities, with experience building and guiding multi-location teams. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical groups. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Geology, Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field; an advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
Note
We are actively putting together an experienced team in order to raise financing for this takeover. Thus, the applicant accepts that actual employment is contingent on completing the acquisition of the target in the next couple of months. If the acquisition is successful, the core team (CFO, COO) will be entitled to a competitive salary, sizable stock bonuses, and a chance to build out the next phase of the company.
