About the role
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL POSTING
Priority shall be given to qualified Cree beneficiaries
NATURE OF WORK
The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing a variety of administrative, secretarial and clerical duties of a complex nature as established by Post-Secondary Student Services.
CHARACTERISTICS FUNCTIONS
The duties of the employee in this class of employment involve specialization in the selection, preparation and verification of data as well as in the preparation of documents, including the recording of documents obtained as a result of research within or outside the organization. The employee may, in particular;
Coordinate the implementation of various procedures regarding his area of work;
Prepares and collects all data, information and documents related to students in his particular area;
Provide information to students on PSSS program and other staff members relating to relevant financial and administrative aspects of the Post-Secondary Program;
Receives and ensures that outgoing mail is processed;
Ensures to keep inventory of office and kitchen supplies;
Collaborate with other Cree School Board Administrative staff as needed, to organize meetings, when needed;
Assists to organize and record incoming student files for internal processing;
Other duties as requested by his supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in an appropriate specialty for the class of employment, a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority, and have one (1) year of pertinent experience.
English is a requirement;
Ability to speak Cree is required;
Knowledge of the French language is an asset;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including typing, word processing, Word and the arrangement of texts is required.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Replacement position for an undetermined period.
35 hours/week

The Cree School Board (CSB) provides pre-school, elementary and secondary education to the James Bay Cree youth and supports Cree adults in their pursuit of post-secondary education, continuing education and vocational training.
As an independent First Nation school board recognized by the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, it also develops programs and pedagogical materials in Cree, French and English following Quebec Education Program guidelines.
