We are recruiting for the following position(s)

PLC Programmer (Junior to Intermediate) (Full-time)

About the job: Tarco is seeking Junior and Intermediate PLC Programmers to support a large-scale industrial controls modernization initiative. This role focuses on migrating legacy HMI systems to modern platforms while ensuring the integrity of the underlying PLC control systems.

You'll work with existing PLC programs, HMI databases, and industrial control systems to analyze and validate control system data, identify critical operational information, and support the migration to modern HMI platforms. We're looking for individuals with a solid understanding of industrial automation and control systems.

Whether you're starting your career or building on several years of experience, you'll collaborate with experienced controls professionals while contributing to complex industrial automation projects.

What you’ll do

o Analyze existing PLC and HMI applications o Interpret PLC logic and HMI databases to identify critical control information o Support migration of legacy HMI systems to modern platforms o Validate tags, alarms, graphics, and references between PLCs and HMIs o Review PLC programs to verify tag usage and functionality o Assist with HMI database creation and validation o Troubleshoot discrepancies during migration activities o Work closely with senior automation specialists to maintain system integrity o Document findings and maintain accurate migration records o Participate in testing and validation activities

You have

o Diploma or Degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related discipline o Approximately 1–5 years of industrial PLC programming or automation experience o Experience with one or more PLC platforms such as: o Rockwell / Allen-Bradley o GE o Siemens (Siemens 505 experience is considered an asset) o Experience with one or more HMI platforms such as: o AVEVA InTouch o Ignition o GE CIMPLICITY o Ability to read and understand PLC logic and industrial control systems o Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills o Valid Canadian Driver's License

Assets

Experience with any of the following would be considered a strong asset: o HMI migration projects (legacy to modern platforms) o Industrial gas compression facilities o Compressor station controls o Ignition development o PLC/HMI integration o Industrial networking o SCADA systems o Commissioning or startup experience
