WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE

The Accounting & Finance Team provides oversight, direction, and support in all aspects of accounting at The Calgary Airport Authority. The team works closely and collaboratively with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review invoices for completeness and verify basic information such as amounts and dates.

  • Review aging reports to identify accounts requiring follow‑up based on established criteria.

  • Match transactions, perform three‑way matching (invoice, purchase order, receipt), and review for discrepancies through established processes.

  • Generate invoices and ensure accurate recording of receivables.

  • Respond to vendor/customer inquiries via email and phone.

  • Assist with preparation of payment requests for EFT, cheques, bill payments, wires in USD and CAD.

  • Receive and process customer payments including EFTs, cheques, bill payments, and wire transfers (USD and CAD).

  • Assist with identifying outstanding items by gathering information and supporting documentation.

  • Support month‑end activities by preparing routine reports and providing requested data.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • You’ll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don’t worry – we’ll help you through this! For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application Information
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a related role.
  • Basic understanding of basic accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial reporting.

WHAT****ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET

  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred
