The Cabin Maintenance Controller is responsible to monitor Cabin and IFE systems, and provide technical support to Maintenance Control, Line Maintenance, In-Flight Service and Flight Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct technical support/advice to Inflight Service and Flight Ops (during flights).
    Line/Base Maintenance, Engineering, Airframe MRO, Vendors and other departments on a daily basis.
  • Maintain aircraft reliability in conjunction with Cabin Standards and Engineering.
  • Initiate follow-ups on recurrent defects, dark flights and cabin safety incidents.
  • Investigate, identify and issue Cabin Technical Support Requests (CFMR). Recommended maintenance action for all Cabin Systems.
  • Prioritizing and planning the cabin and aircraft work to Line Maintenance stations and Maintenance Bases.
  • Optimize aircraft downtime opportunities to meet performance targets.
  • Keep track of performance and adjust daily plan accordingly
  • Work in conjunction with Planning department to develop recovery plans.
  • Evaluate and identify flight schedule opportunities for cabin deviations and condition for maintenance work to be accomplished.

Qualifications

  • Technical school training in an aeronautical field or equivalent. Post high school and/or university training an asset.
  • Sound technical knowledge of processes and procedures relative to Air Canada’s Maintenance Programs
  • Detailed technical knowledge of aircraft Inflight Entertainment, Wi-Fi and Avionics Systems.
  • Ability to develop and write clear, concise technical descriptions, instructions, information sheets and reports using simplified English.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including wiring diagrams, Illustrated Part List and other type of Technical Instructions.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to coordinate issues to successful conclusion.
  • Good judgment and strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Good knowledge of cabin interiors, seats, lavatories, galleys and lighting systems.
  • Ability to assess operational situation and make decisions on problems in terms of aircraft downtime, manpower, and resource requirements.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to adapt and react quickly to changes in a stressful environment, with minimum supervision.
  • Team oriented individual with good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, TRAX and Netline.
  • Must be available for shift pattern work (Day and Night shift).
  • A.M.E license is an asset.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
