Procurement Analyst 1

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Resident

Annual salary: $64K - $69K

Position Highlights Procures goods and services for projects of low to medium value and low to medium risk and complexity and supports

procurement processes and projects led by senior Procurement staff or manager. Provides value-add customer service and

develops and maintains strong working relationships with staff and management in all lines of business.

What you'll do

  1. Follows established practices (within Passport and/or SAP ERP System) and procedures to acquire goods and services

in a timely fashion from known or sourced suppliers where requirements/need risk and complexity are low to medium and

costs are low to medium value. Negotiates commercial terms and places basic purchase and/or contract orders.

  1. Communicates with internal customers to explore and identify value-add opportunities such as using a different process

or supplier. Communicates with suppliers to ensure certain expectations and terms are clear, understood and documented.

Performs routine expediting with suppliers and communicates delivery and schedule updates to internal customers.

  1. Reviews requisitions, scope documents and data sheets for accuracy and completeness. Processes purchase orders

and overdue orders or lost deliveries by following up and discussing with involved parties to expedite or otherwise resolve

according to standard procurement practices.

  1. Facilitates secondary sourcing events (such as RFP, RFT and RFQ) and conducts the necessary processes associated

with the sourcing event, including: developing evaluation matrices, and preparing Recommendation Reports at the

conclusion of the sourcing event that capture relevant information about the process followed and the results of the decision

process, to obtain appropriate approvals to finalize negotiations (if required) and execute contracts; and preparing

debriefing documents for unsuccessful suppliers at the conclusion of the sourcing event.

  1. Maintains complete and accurate file records in Supply Chain Workspace (SCW) and ensures and demonstrates

compliance to policy. Reviews regular status reports, identifies items of concern and initiates appropriate action.

  1. Participates in procurement processes and projects led by senior Procurement staff or manager by performing supporting

activities such as sourcing suppliers, conducting market and product research, drafting documents for review, etc.

  1. Participates in continuous learning and professional development activities such as attending conferences and

workshops.

  1. Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of Procurement methods and procedures, corporate procurement policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management ERP systems (such as PassPort, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Knowledge of competitive bid law and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of supply management.
  • Working knowledge of procurement practices, methods and techniques relating to requisitions, order placement, receiving

and payment.

  • Knowledge of methods and practices used to locate and conduct product, supplier, vendor and market research.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to utilize computer systems to enter, edit and retrieve data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to consistently provide and maintain a professional approach and relationship with internal clients and suppliers.
  • Problem-solving and analytical ability to evaluate competitive bids and resolve day-to-day procurement issues related to

delivery, invoicing, etc.

  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Ability to seek answers to questions and challenge the status quo.

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain or in an

equivalent field; or two (2) years of post-secondary education plus one of the following: three (3) years of related

experience; or must be enrolled in the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) diploma program; or working

towards an equivalent professional designation (such as SCMP, ISM, PMP and CPA).

Knowledge of Supply Chain Management ERP systems (such as PassPort, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is required.

Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
