About the role

What the role is all about:

WinSport Summer Camps is seeking a confident, adaptable, and compassionate Inclusion Facilitator to support inclusive and safe camp experiences for youth of diverse abilities. This role helps open doors for campers who may not otherwise be able to attend camp by ensuring they can participate meaningfully while maintaining a positive group experience.

The Inclusion Facilitator provides direct camper support and serves as a resource for instructors and families. Responsibilities include communicating with parents or guardians about camper needs, gathering relevant information before and during camp, developing support or behavioral plans, and documenting behaviors, near misses, and safety concerns to guide decision-making.

This role also mentors instructors on inclusive practices and behavior management, stepping in when additional support is needed and maintaining calm, professional judgment in fast-paced camp environments.

Above all, the Inclusion Facilitator helps foster an environment where all campers feel a sense of belonging, instructors feel supported, and families feel confident in the camp experience.

As an Inclusion Facilitator in our Summer Camps, you strive to align your work with WinSport’s six core values:

  • Safety

What you will be doing:

Program Execution

  • Adhere to program policies and procedures and escalate concerns through the appropriate leadership channels when required.

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and exceptional experience of participants.

  • Plan, lead, and modify programs daily, operating independently as a group leader and collaboratively with others to make necessary accommodations for youth requiring additional support.

  • Develop and implement individualized support or behavioral strategies based on parent communication, instructor feedback, and in-program observations.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to instructors on inclusive practices, behavior management strategies, and adaptive programming techniques.

  • Step in to support instructors when behaviors escalate beyond what can reasonably be managed within standard supervision ratios.

Safety

  • Monitor participant behavior, identify patterns or triggers, and implement proactive strategies to minimize conflict and mitigate safety concerns.

  • Lead or support de-escalation of dysregulated participants while remaining calm and composed in high-stress or rapidly changing situations.

  • Track and document behavioral incidents, near misses, safety concerns, and interventions clearly and objectively.

  • Provide ongoing safety education and behavior management techniques to team members to support prevention-focused programming.

  • Escalate ongoing or significant safety concerns to leadership in a timely and professional manner.

Communication

  • Connect with families regarding camp adaptations required to facilitate a successful experience, both prior to and during programming.

  • Maintain professional, empathetic, and solution-focused communication with parents/guardians and caregivers.

  • Coordinate strategies collaboratively with campers, families, and instructors, while reporting to leadership to support adaptive camp engagement.

  • Communicate clearly and confidently with instructors, providing real-time coaching and feedback as needed.

  • Vary communication style to best fit the audience while ensuring clarity, consistency, and professionalism.
