Role Summary

Decibel is seeking a Continuous Improvement Site Lead to lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives at our Ontario manufacturing facility. Working independently as the site's dedicated CI resource, this role will identify, propose, and lead improvement projects from analysis through execution, while partnering closely with our Calgary-based Continuous Improvement Manager and cross-functional site leadership.

This role goes beyond analysis and reporting: the Continuous Improvement Site Lead will take ownership of initiatives, drive root cause analysis and corrective action to completion, and be a visible driver of a continuous improvement culture on-site, all while providing the data-driven insight needed to support strategic and operational decisions.

Our Culture

We foster a supportive, collaborative environment that values teamwork over competition. Every team member plays a critical role in our success, regardless of experience level. At Decibel, you will learn and grow alongside passionate professionals in a culture defined by:

  • We Grind: Persistence and resourcefulness
  • We Craft: Attention to every detail
  • We Care: Passion and inclusion in everything we do

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives at the Chatham site end-to-end, from opportunity identification through implementation and results tracking
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain production financial reporting tools
  • Evaluate improvement projects to determine return on investment (ROI)
  • Review and assess production task rates to validate product-level feasibility
  • Lead root cause analysis of recurring issues and drive corrective/preventative actions with cross-functional teams
  • Partner with Chatham Site Leadership to identify and prioritize efficiency opportunities
  • Develop and maintain Jotform-based tools and connect them with other data sources (e.g., inventory, quality, performance) to identify trends, correlations, and opportunities
  • Independently plan and execute efficiency and cost-reduction projects, managing timelines and stakeholders without on-site CI leadership support
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures for process analysis and root cause analysis
  • Lead training for the operations team on new tools, methodologies, and process changes
  • Train production teams on developed or revised SOPs
  • Manage the progress and performance of leaders through the Gemba Academy platform
  • Act as the primary point of contact for CI matters on-site, keeping the Calgary-based CI Manager and Site Leadership informed of operational deviations, project status, and performance insights
  • Prepare and present reports and project updates to the Site Leadership team
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement on-site by communicating the benefits of change and building buy-in across departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your manager

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • Group health and dental benefits (Group Source)
  • Opportunities for career progression as the company grows
  • A leadership team committed to your development and success
  • The opportunity to independently own and shape the CI function at our Ontario facility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 3-4 years of relevant continuous improvement or operational analysis experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (asset)
  • Advanced skills in Excel and analytical techniques (tested during selection)
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Sage X3 (asset)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently with minimal day-to-day oversight
  • Cannabis industry or other consumer packaged goods experience is a plus but not required

Key Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines independently
  • Comfortable driving decisions and projects forward with limited on-site CI support
  • Proactive, collaborative team player with a bias for action and hands on involvement

What We're Looking For

We'll be assessing candidates based on

  1. A team-first attitude and willingness to learn
  2. Demonstrated ability to lead and drive initiatives independently
  3. Desire to innovate and drive process improvements

More than experience, we value attitude and commitment.
