November 2025 - Fitness Assessment Practice
About the role
Are you interested in a career as Police Constable, Special Constable or volunteering as an Auxiliary Officer? Don’t know how to train or prepare for the Fitness Assessments that are part of the hiring process? Join us and participate in a Fitness Assessment Practice with the Belleville Police Service (BPS)!
At the BPS, one of the first stages of our recruitment process for Police Constables, Special Constables and Auxiliary Officers includes a Fitness Assessment. We utilize the Ontario Police Fitness Award (OFPA) Pin Program. This assessment consists of: Push-Ups, Trunk Forward Flexion, Core Endurance and the Shuttle Run. Candidates must be successful in our Fitness Assessments to move forward in our process. For Police Constable candidates, in addition to passing the Fitness Assessment, it is a bona fide requirement that candidates must meet level seven on the shuttle run.
We are hosting Fitness Assessment Practice sessions for candidates. This is an opportunity for candidates to test themselves on the physical requirements, learn how they can improve, and to connect with our Recruitment Team.
The Belleville Police Service is hosting a practice session on Wednesday, November 26th from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Prince of Wales Public School located in Belleville, Ontario. Advanced registration is required as spaces are limited. Registration is mandatory and walk-ins will not be accepted. Registration submission does not guarantee participation.
To register for this practice session, visit www.bellevilleps.ca > Careers > Current Opportunities > “Fitness Assessment Practice” scroll to the bottom and click “Apply Now”. Should your registration request be approved, our recruitment team will notify you and provide further details. Please be informed that candidates that participate in the fitness assessment practice will still be required to complete the fitness assessments should you be selected to participate in any of our recruitment processes.
