YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Mine Planning Supervisor, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the medium-term (3-month rolling) mine plans for the open-pit operation. This role ensures alignment with long-term strategic objectives while integrating input from key stakeholders to produce executable and optimized plans.
Mid-Range Planning:
- Develop, present, and maintain monthly 3-month rolling mine plans aligned with production targets set by long-term planning.
- Ensure plans are feasible and executable by integrating input from operations, engineering, geology, survey, milling, and environment teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with on-site short-range planning to align daily and weekly priorities with mid-range objectives.
- Collaborate with long-range planning to collect and validate planning assumptions.
- Participate in Monthly Mining Analysis (MMA) sessions to review performance and planning alignment.
Design & Optimization:
- Contribute to pit, waste dump, and stockpile design to support tactical planning needs.
- Perform punctual analyses to assess actual performance and test optimization opportunities.
Systems & Tools:
- Utilize Deswik, Excel, Centric, and other planning tools to model, communicate, and track mine plans.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure timely updates to planning models and documentation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field;
- 3+ years of experience in mine planning, preferably in open-pit;
- Professional designation (P.Eng) in the Northwest Territories/Nunavut is considered an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and mine design/planning software (Deswik, Wenco DB).
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Hybrid Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of working from home and frequent visits to site on a 7/7 or 14/14 schedule;
- Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
