About the role
Overview The Brake Press Operator operates a brake press machine to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and plates. This role involves working in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. This role is critical in the metal fabrication process, transforming raw metal sheets into finished products through precise bending and shaping. The role requires technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Location: This role will work from our Manufacturing Shop.
Work Hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm

Responsibilities
- Set up and operation of Hydraulic Brake Press
- Set up and operation of Shear
- Occasional operator of Saw and Iron Worker
- Cut and bend sheet steel components to shop drawing specifications.
- Cut and bend in house parts and ensure quantities are acceptable to meet demand.
- Maintain equipment and report any issue to Supervision.
- Follow work orders and Service requisitions and ensure components are completed for scheduled dates
- Ability to read and Interpret Shop Drawings/blueprints
Ability to calculate bend tolerances
- Measuring of parts
- Follow quality control procedures
- Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications according to drawings.
- Read specifications or follow verbal instructions
- Clean and lubricate equipment
- Maintain Daily Maintenance Inspection logs for equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years Press Brake experience (ideal)
- Must be able or willing to learn to operate a forklift/truck.
- Brake press machine set up.
- Must pass practical shop test showing ability to set up and operate Press Brake
- Metal fabrication experience is required.
- Safety conscience of surrounding machinery
