What Is The Opportunity?
We are looking for a Manager, Business Operations within Enterprise Platform Services (EPS) team to provide financial, strategic advice and analyses to the senior management team to improve financial performance, drive cost savings and the quality of business decisions for spend managed by this group.
This position requires working in an operational and strategic capacity developing business cases for capital, refresh, regulatory and contract funding taking into consideration the impacts to RBC business units. The incumbent will provide financial and advisory services internally ensuring funding, documentation / PARs (project approval requests), plans, and stake holder concurrence is in place.
What Will You Do?
- Provide support for various business cases / PARs for capital, risk management and contract funding taking into consideration the impacts to RBC business units
- Assist in PAR creation, including review, financial analysis and revisions to support teams in completing PARs and presenting requests to senior management.
- Project reporting including preparation of summaries for senior executives related to various project spend, pricing and budgets to identify areas of risk and opportunity
- Liaise with third party service providers, vendors and internal stakeholders (Finance, Risk Management and Procurement) from multiple geographies including, but not limited to, Canada, US, UK and the Caribbean on funding, invoicing, payments, contract management and operational risk issues
- Provide governance for project funding requests and ensure that stakeholder teams to ensure compliance with PAR policy/processes.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Decision Support and Finance to find efficiencies in the PAR process with the objective of expediting the approval of funding requests.
- Participate in the management and validation of funding requests and cost savings initiatives
- Accountable for supporting the business in providing advice on the allocation of costs to the various business platforms and for proactively leading, maintaining and supporting the implementation of the cost allocation framework
What Do You Need To Succeed? Must have:
- Business degree, MBA/CPA or equivalent relevant experience
- Knowledge/ experience with business cases / PARs
- Understanding of financial and procurement processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate horizontally across the organization
- Proven planning, organizational and problem solving skills
Nice-to-have :
- Relevant financial institution / IT related experience
- Program management experience
