Make your mark while you grow your career! Reporting to the Procurement Lead, the Buyer is accountable for sourcing materials, equipment, and services critical to our operations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, while maintaining high standards for quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, purchasing, and contract management, with specific experience in the oil and gas industry.

-**Job location:**Calgary, Alberta -**Shift schedule:**5 x 2, 8-hour shifts -**Safety sensitive position:**No -Application deadline: March 31, 2026

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the end‑to‑end procurement process for materials and equipment supporting oil and gas operations, ensuring cost efficiency, policy compliance, and alignment with operational requirements
  • Lead competitive sourcing activities, including bid evaluations, supplier negotiations, and contract optimization, while identifying cost‑saving opportunities and supporting effective inventory planning
  • Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to understand procurement needs, technical requirements, and delivery timelines
  • Create, review, and manage purchase orders with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and adherence to commercial, technical, QA/QC, and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively expedite open orders, monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery or invoice issues, and escalate risks as needed to maintain operational continuity
  • Maintain high‑quality ERP and procurement data, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to supplier performance evaluations and process optimization efforts

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field (Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPIM) are a plus)
  • 3 plus years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the energy industry
  • Strong understanding of the oil and gas supply chain, including materials sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience expediting supplier deliverables and managing complex or time‑sensitive orders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external suppliers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
