About the role

What to Expect

At Tesla Toronto Automation, we design, build, and service custom, highly automated, high-volume manufacturing machinery to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to set up and operate our CNC Mills (3, 4 & 5 axis) and contribute to our mission.

Shift: 06:30 AM -04:00 PM; Monday-Thursday and 06:30 AM -03:00 PM; Friday (Overtime as needed)

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate CNC Mills (e.g., Mazak, Hardinge, Grob, Mikron) to produce precision parts in varying quantities

  • Read and interpret electronic or paper blueprints to ensure parts meet exact specifications and quality standards

  • Machine a variety of materials, including tool steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and plastics, with precision and care

  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, adhering to prescribed safety procedures and protocols

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery

  • Assist in other areas such as fabrication, assembly, or maintenance as needed to support business demands

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic aligned with Tesla’s mission and goals

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating CNC machining equipment, preferably with mills and automation

  • Proficiency with CNC controls such as Mazatrol, Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain

  • Apprenticeship or toolmaking background is considered a strong asset

  • Ability to follow standardized processes to successfully machine parts with consistency and accuracy

  • Basic computer knowledge and skills for operating systems and recording data

  • Must provide personal basic hand tools and toolbox for daily tasks

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
