TLA Online is Hiring Inclusive Education Teachers
TLA Online is seeking experienced, caring, and collaborative teachers with a heart for supporting students with diverse learning needs. We are an established K-12 Independent Provincial online school in British Columbia, and we are looking to grow our Inclusive Education (IE) team.

About the Role
IE Teachers at TLA play a central role in ensuring every student receives personalized support. You will collaborate with families, the IE Director, educational assistants, community professionals, and the wider TLA team to create meaningful learning experiences for K-12 students with special or diverse needs.
This position is well suited for teachers who are:
- Experienced in special education, case management, or learning support
- Strong communicators who value partnership with families
- Organized and confident with documentation
- Comfortable working in a flexible online environment (online experience is helpful but not required)
Key Responsibilities
Student Support and Family Partnership
- Maintain current knowledge of strategies, resources, and curriculum to support diverse learners
- Build strong relationships through weekly dialogue with parents and students
- Monitor student progress and adjust supports as needed
Case Management
- Coordinate student assessments to determine educational needs
- Maintain required documentation for Ministry of Education special needs funding
- Develop and update Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Student Learning Plans (SLPs)
- Assist parents and educational assistants in accessing appropriate services
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Oversee and support educational assistants in implementing IEPs and SLPs
- Set learning standards collaboratively with families, students, and TLA teachers
- Work closely with the IE Director and other support staff
Instruction and Community Building
- Guide educational assistants in delivering instructional strategies
- Help students access paper-based and online resources, including TLA specialist support
- Facilitate group learning opportunities including lessons, workshops, field trips, and guest presentations, delivered online or in person as appropriate
