Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services ( www.protecnium.com/en) . We are currently looking for a Cost Controller/ Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
-Project: Rail Construction
-Estimated length: 24 months- with the possibility of being extended. In general, when the project ends, we try to place the candidate in other projects to give him/her continuity.
-Summary: This role will focus on reviewing measurements, validating quantities, and coordinating with engineers to ensure that designs and technical documentation are accurate, consistent, and aligned with project specifications.
-Responsibilities:
- Review and validate construction measurements, quantities, and material take-offs.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to check designs for feasibility and consistency. Assist in the preparation of cost reports, progress claims, and budget tracking.
- Monitor changes in design and construction that may impact cost and schedule.
- Identify discrepancies or potential errors in design drawings and documentation, and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, specifications, and Canadian construction regulations.
- Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Controller/ Quantity Surveyor in railway, infrastructure, civil works, or transit projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, measurement, and estimating techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD, Civil 3D, or BIM tools is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to detect inconsistencies in designs or measurements.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with engineers and project management teams.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday- 40 hours weekly
