Senior Quality Process Engineer - Automotive

SHIFT: Days (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Develops, implements and maintains systems to ensure conformance to customer requirements. Co-ordinate’s layouts, process flow, PFMEAs, control plans, inspection plans and other quality documentation to ensure processes are in place which will provide optimum product quality.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and encourage safe work environment and good housekeeping.
- Develop optimized processes through continuous upgrading of Control Plans and Process Inspection Sheets.
- Reviews drawings for products and confirms the processes to build the part.
- Builds Control Plans, Inspection Plans and PFMEAs from scratch for new launches.
- Leads Safe Launch plans & implementation. Co-ordinates GP12 activities for all new launches.
- Coordinate all SPC and Process Capability studies with respect to manufacturing processes.
- Act as technical resource to all departments as requested.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures and ISO9001, IATF16949, ISO14001, CT-PAT & ISO45001 & Controlled Goods audits.
- Acts as a customer liaison for all assigned launches and quality concerns.
- Maintains gauge calibration/MSA system.
- Performs inspection audits on the production floor daily.
- Supports the QM with internal and external audits.
- Provides technical support for product quality improvements.
- Evaluates in-process and analytical data, performs root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for process related concerns.
- Uses 8D (Or similar as directed by the customer) for problem solving methodology and for product and process improvement.
- Provides technical specifications and works with purchasing in vendor selection.
- Assists in the installation, training and startup of new projects, QA Training and vendor PSW/PPAP’s.
- Supports the Teams on MRP / PIT implementation and data input for routing and processes (optimize processes through continuous auditing of cell/dock/process/incoming material.
- Associate adheres to all Management Systems, ie. Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental.
- Initiates technical improvements and training in Quality/Production departments. (i.e. First off/Last off control plans, metrology training, lot control/traceability.)
- Work in compliance and conform to QMS, EMS and H&S standards, Policies, Objectives, Impact & Aspect and Hazard and Risks.
- Works as a Team Member in all situations.
- Other related responsibilities assigned by Quality Manager.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Post-Secondary Diploma and experience in technical areas, C.E.T. or Professional Engineering Designation.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

3 - 5 Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of process flow and optimization, cellular manufacturing engineering MRP experience an asset.
