The following position is open for applications:
BUILDING TRADES – MECHANICAL CUPE Competition No. 6114
**Location:**District – North
Whistler & Pemberton Areas
**Effective:**October 20, 2025
Hours: 8 hours per day, 12 months per year
Rate of Pay:$38**.27/hour**
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the General Manager of Operations and with the general direction of the Director of Operations, repairs and maintains a variety of mechanical systems at the Journeyman level in School District facilities location in the Pemberton/Whistler area.
Qualifications:
- BC Trade Certification as a HVAC technician or 4th Class Power Engineer and over one (1) year up to and including two (2) years related experience at the Journeyman level in the Heating Technician and/or Piping Trades.
- Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License or valid Class 2 B.C. Driver's License with Air Endorsement (required if/when driving a school bus).
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) safety procedures
