About the Role
We are currently hiring Developmental Service Workers (DSW) to provide high-quality, compassionate support to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delays, mental health conditions, and behavioral challenges in residential and day treatment programs. Staff play a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment that fosters growth, independence, and community inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage residents in daily routines and structured programming
- Provide support in recreation, life skills education, and behavior management
- Ensure medication routines are followed and documented accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment
- Drive agency vehicles as needed for client outings or appointments
- Complete documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication records
- Comply with agency and Ministry policies, Health & Safety, and crisis protocols
- Support personal care needs, including hygiene, grooming, and health routines
- Assist in community integration and social/recreational participation
- Actively contribute to a respectful, team-based support environment
Qualifications (Required):
- College Diploma or University Degree in Developmental Services Work (DSW) or related field.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification
- Valid Crisis Intervention training (CPI and/or UMAB)
- Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 6 12 months or willingness to obtain
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a group home or residential setting with individuals with ASD, developmental disabilities, or behavioral needs
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Reliable, organized, and adaptable under pressure
- Comfortable working rotating shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude and strong public relations/interpersonal skills
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role (e.g., lifting, bending, active engagement)
Availability:
- Must be available to work rotational shifts across 7 days a week
- Steady shifts available with potential for Temporary full-time placement for the right candidate
