As a Basemap / Addressing Analyst, you will create and maintain integrated geospatial data and assign municipal addresses for parcels, buildings, suites, entryways and structures by adhering to the Addressing Bylaw, Municipal Naming Policy and addressing guidelines. Primary duties include:
- Integrate legal plans into the City's cadastral fabric and enter plan information into the Legal Survey Fabric, Ownership Parcel Fabric and Building Repository.
- Assign addresses to parcels, buildings, suites, entryways and structures.
- Reconcile daily records from the Alberta Land Titles system (SPIN2) and various City systems including POSSE, PITS, PUMA, the Enterprise GIS system, CIAO and COOL to enter data and update information into various databases.
- Evaluate legal plans using survey information submitted by Alberta Land Surveyors to ensure compliance to Alberta Land Titles submission standards.
- Review other plans submitted to the City (e.g. area structure plans and outline plans, architectural plans) to ensure that proposed street names and other details are following the Addressing Bylaw and Municipal Naming Policy and make recommendations to developers for changes.
Qualifications
- A completed 2-year diploma in Applied GIS, Engineering Design/Drafting, Geomatics Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of cartographic experience; OR
- A degree related to Planning or GIS and at least 1 year of cartographic experience.
- Experience must include working with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or GIS software and providing excellence in customer service.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word), and POSSE.
- Experience using Microstation, ArcMap, Plan Input Tracking System (PITS), Parcel Update Mapping Application (PUMA), and/or Alberta Registry (SPIN2) will be considered assets.
- Success in this position requires the ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate sound decision-making, and strong troubleshooting skills to solve problems.

Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $37.77 - 50.50 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
