Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Shop Coordinator at our Surrey, BC shop location.

Reporting to the Shop Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for internal administration of service and production orders related to repairs, including estimating, quotation, procurement of parts and services, quality control, billing, and generating value-added reporting specific services offered through our shop facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate preparation and tracking of service and production orders and order entry
  • Preparation of customer quotes and other documents within corporate standards and quality procedures
  • Responsible for procurement, coordination and timely arrival of parts between vendors and repair facility to facilitate deadlines and customer requirements
  • Ensure accurate costing of all parts and services required to complete orders
  • Communication with customers and vendors professionally and confidently
  • Procurement and expediting of components and services, identify opportunities to maximize profitability by improving internal efficiencies and lowering costs related to procurement
  • Data entry, organization and filing related orders and other relevant information within standards of repair shop facility, both manually and electronically as required
  • Participation and active input to corporately sponsored safety program
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of Shop Coordination/Administration experience related to Fluid Power repair or related industries
  • Fluid Power background or proven ability to grasp and learn mechanical concepts
  • Proven ability to work in team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivated, detail oriented
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply codes, standards, specifications, and drawings
  • Ability to prioritize a number of tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured and/or critical deadlines
  • Service orientated, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate sound judgment with an extremely high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical findings in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to clearly communicate work instructions to shop personnel in order to document and preserve evidence of failure.
  • Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
