Job Title : Intermediate DevOps Engineer
Full-time Opportunity | 100% Onsite in Calgary, AB | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa
Our client, a leading financial technology organization , is seeking an Intermediate DevOps Engineer to join a growing DevOps team supporting a major product modernization initiative. This individual will work closely with senior engineers, development teams, QA, and security to build, scale, and maintain secure, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure.
This is a key role within a DevOps team of four (Lead, two Senior DevOps Engineers, and this Intermediate position). The organization is modernizing systems and expanding automation, excellent for someone looking to grow their technical depth in a collaborative, fast-paced fintech environment.
Responsibilities:
CI/CD, Automation & Infrastructure
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support secure, efficient software delivery.
- Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Automate application deployments, configuration, and scaling workflows.
- Support and enhance container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor system performance, stability, and high availability for production services.
- Improve reliability, reduce operational overhead, and strengthen deployment quality.
- Implement and manage logging and monitoring with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK Stack , or similar.
Collaboration & Security
- Work closely with development and QA teams to streamline builds, deployments, and performance optimization.
- Implement DevSecOps best practices, ensuring alignment with financial industry security and compliance standards (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, etc.).
- Document infrastructure, architecture, automation procedures, and deployment processes for internal teams and audits.
Qualifications:
Required
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows .
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure reliability, automation, and DevOps best practices.
Preferred
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer).
- Experience working in fintech or regulated industries .
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps culture.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
