Role Description This full-time, on-site Geotechnical Engineer role is based in Brampton, ON. The Geotechnical Engineer will plan and execute site investigations, including fieldwork, sampling, and in-situ testing, and will interpret soil and rock data to provide geotechnical recommendations. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing geotechnical reports, performing engineering analyses related to foundations, slopes, and earthworks, and supporting foundation design for buildings and structures. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, liaising with clients and contractors, and ensuring that geotechnical solutions align with safety, regulatory, and sustainability requirements. Qualifications Ability to perform and manage geotechnical site investigations, including planning field programs and coordinating with field staff. Knowledge of soil mechanics and behavior of soil and rock materials for engineering applications. Proficiency in geotechnical engineering analysis, including bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and earthworks design. Understanding of engineering geology, including interpretation of subsurface conditions and geological hazards. Experience in foundation design for a variety of structures, such as shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, and ground improvement. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Eligibility for professional engineering licensure (P.Eng.) in Ontario or working toward licensure. Strong technical writing skills for preparation of clear, concise geotechnical reports and recommendations. Competence with relevant geotechnical software and standard industry codes and guidelines. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work safely in field and laboratory environments.
