##About the Role

Batch Person – Ready-Mix Plant Lead

Own the pour, lead the floor. We’re hiring a hands-on Batch Person to run day-to-day batching and keep our ready-mix plant safe, efficient, and customer-focused.

Location: Acheson, AB

Employment Type: Seasonal, March / April - November

What You’ll Do

• Run the plant: Oversee batching, schedules, and daily operations to deliver high-quality concrete on spec and on time.
• Be the safety champion: Lead toolbox talks, hazard assessments, inspections, and emergency planning. Walk the talk on Goal Zero.
• Win with customers: Take accurate orders, ask the right questions, upsell value-added products, and schedule to maximise productivity and minimise overtime.
• Dispatch smart: Coordinate drivers and placements; keep sites updated on delays or changes.
• Keep quality tight: Work with QC and Plant Manager on mix designs, materials, and standards. Implement new tech and products.
• Keep it moving: Monitor downtime, complete timecards, and ensure everyone’s time is used wisely.
• Keep it tidy: Maintain equipment, inventory, and site standards; jump on loader or help load customers when needed.
• Report clearly: Inventory, fuel dips, consumption, tickets, and invoicing pre-checks—accurate and on time.
• Maintain the fleet: Coordinate repairs, weekly condition checks, and maintenance records; minimise downtime.

What You Bring

• Experience: Proven Ready-Mix Batch Person (or similar) with strong concrete production know‑how—materials, mixes, specs.
• Systems: Command Batch/Dispatch (or similar) proficiency; comfortable with computers and learning new tech.
• Service mindset: Professional phone manner, clear communicator, customer-first.
• Leadership: Team player who mentors others, sets standards, and holds people to them.
• Drive and discipline: Results-oriented, urgent when it counts, great at juggling priorities, big on detail.
• Attitude: High energy, resilient, positive “can-do,” adaptable to change.

Nice to have

• Class 3 licence (Class 1 preferred).
• Occupational First Aid Level 1.
• Experience moving/setting up/maintaining batching equipment.

Working conditions

• Extended hours, nights/weekends and overtime as required.
• PPE required; safety-sensitive role with drug and alcohol testing.
• Mix of office and plant work; manual dexterity for computer use.
