The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for 20 Instructors/Lifeguards to join our team at the outdoor Rotary Pool in Alliston for the 2026 summer season.

What is required to be an Instructor/Lifeguard?
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Must hold National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification
- Must hold Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification
- Must hold Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification in addition to the above certifications
- Successful candidates must hold current certifications no later than April 15th, 2026. If you are in progress of getting any of the above certifications, please note this in your application.

What you’ll be doing:
- Working to prevent accidents by providing supervision and educating the public on facility rules, providing any required first aid treatment, and responding to aquatic emergencies should an incident occur.
- Preparing lesson plans in accordance with the Lifesaving Society program, teaching assigned lessons, evaluating participants swimming abilities, and providing progress reports and feedback.
- Pool operations are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from June 29 to September 6. Shifts can include daytime, afternoon, evening and weekends. Staff must be available to work any shift.
- Staff training will take place in the evenings and on weekends throughout June. Attendance at these training sessions is mandatory.
- This position must work daytime, evening, weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled.
- Must be available to work the full length of the employment contract.
Key Dates:
- Mandatory Staff Training – throughout the month of June
- Canada Day Event – July 1
- Pool Opens – Monday, June 29th, 2026.
- Pool Closes – Sunday, September 6th, 2026.
Wage Rate: $20.73 - $23.03, plus 4% vacation pay
Hours: Up to 35 hours throughout June for training (weekends and evenings)
Up to 40 hours per week from June 29th – September 6th
Location: Alliston Rotary Pool, 75 King St N, Alliston
Dates: May 29th, 2026 – September 6th, 2026
