Summary of Duties:
Reports to Divisional Engineer. Assists in the design, construction and reconstructive maintenance of the City's transportation infrastructure.
Work Performed:
- Prepares engineering designs for a variety of transportation infrastructure construction projects.
- Prepares contract tender documents for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Acts as Project Supervisor ensuring quality assurance and quantity control within a defined project budget.
- Prepares and recommends for approval change orders and payment certificates. Uses a broad range of field survey skills to compile data to assist with contract administration, and to layout construction projects
- Coordinates, reviews and assists in the administration of contracts for design and construction of transportation infrastructure projects prepared by Engineering Consultants.
- Recommends revisions, reviews, and updates the City of London Standard Contract Documents for Municipal Construction Projects.
- Develops and reviews Design Standards.
- Prepares cost estimates for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Maintains and implements the Pavement Management System and Bridge Management System.
- Reviews and approves engineering plans for Municipal Consent Applications.
- Reviews development plans to ensure compliance with Transportation Division design and construction standards.
- Represents the Transportation Division at Utilities Coordinating Committee.
- Reviews and recommends new products for approval.
- Provides technical guidance and supervision as required.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Three year Community College Civil Engineering or Transportation / Traffic Engineering Diploma recognized by Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
Experience:
Up to 2 years related experience.
Specialized Training & Licenses:
Full Member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or Associate Member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists with full membership as a Certified Engineering Technologist completed within three years.
Compensation & Other Information:
$60,408 - $87,775 (Level 14)
This posting is for one (1) permanent full-time position.
Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.
These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
