Project Coordinator, Office of I-IDEAS - Temporary Full Time
About the role
POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Coordinator contributes to the research, development, implementation and evaluation of resources, and coordinates activities related to advancing Indigeneity, inclusion, diversity, equity, access, and social justice (I-IDEAS) at CHEO. This includes time focused on researching and developing tools and resources, as well as consulting with internal and external partners to ensure projects and recommendations from various committees are implemented. The incumbent will have proven knowledge and experience in researching, writing and project management/coordination activities, and working in collaboration with various partners.
JOB DESCRIPTION Supports and advances the understanding of I-IDEAS through the development and implementation of processes and projects. Acts as the key contact for personnel from various advisory committees and working groups connected with CHEO. Clarifies, updates and documents roles/responsibilities and tracks action plans for various committees and working groups Raises awareness about CHEO’s commitment to I-IDEAS, the work of the Office, and broader trends related to health equity and workforce representation. Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives Determines the information and communications needed by the stakeholders and ensures information is available in a timely manner Coordinates project schedules, workplans, minutes and other resources and information Breaks projects into doable actions and set timeframes Monitors project progress and handles any issues that arise, with support from Supervisor as required Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports Researches information, data, tools, facts, and trends to support document development and reporting Informs supervisor of areas of concern, issues, trends, and successes in committees and working groups Brings creative problem solving and deep value for respectful relations and equitable processes Performs work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety. Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS Criminal Record Check (Level 1) (Essential) Minimum of a two-year Diploma in Project Management or Administration (Essential) Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic/experience requirements Additional Training: A certification in project management, and EDII (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigeneity) (Preferred) Minimum of three years in project coordination and/or administrative roles (Essential) Experience in advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and indigeneity in professional or community settings (Essential) Experience in facilitation, managing, and documenting meetings (Essential) Ability to gather, monitor and analyze data (Preferred) Demonstrated ability in Computer and word processing skills Advanced skills using the MS Office suite PowerPoint presentations Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail (Essential) Flexible approach to work demands (Essential) Demonstrated initiative and ability to adjust priorities (Essential) Self-directed with advanced ability to plan, organize and prioritize (Essential) Strong communication skills – both orally and in writing (Essential) Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation; general knowledge of corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to health and safety (Essential) Bilingualism – French/English (Preferred)
